6 periods a normal day, I had 5 free periods today (:

So i'm gonna keep this one brief...so there's like 70 odd people in my year group, yr 11. Today all the people doing VET courses had to go on some excursion for some 'talk' which is like 55 our of the 70...so the remainder 15 which I was one of got the first 4 periods off for study/assessments/homework...So was good had 4 periods to sit on my laptop and 'try' to write my narrative...I got like 100 words down in some 4 hours?

So I said I had 5 free periods...well 4 down...I had Ancient history...which was actually enjoyable as per usual...Then the last which was another free...however this one was an actual in my timetable...This period I spent playing Age Of Empires 2...hadn't played it in a while so I thought I'd rekindle my past loves...hahaha

So this is just a brief update on my daily activities...hahaha...Hope I didn't bore you too much (:

I'll leave you with this picture taken in the year that was 2008...i believe I was in geography with Macdaddy (Mr MacAteer)...good times :S

That's pretty much my...life as it happens.

Catholic School's Week

I've neglected this blog...and i'm sorry...i guess I felt like nothing exciting has happened...but today wasn't too bad...we had a bunch of yr 6's from the surrounding primary school come in for the day...

My Ancient History class had been chosen to some activities which the groups...it was second period and my group consisting of Matt Keating, Laura Edstrom, Vetea Fachinni and myself.

We'd set up the classroom with a bunch of candles and cloth and closed all the blinds creating a really eerie atmosphere...Then after we let all the kids come in and take a seat we started...

As per usual something we didn't plan came up...which in this case was Mr Longo (that's not his full last name) asked us to give a quick little intro...so I just made something on the spot...asked a few questions and talked a bit about Ancient...

Anyways Laura was up first and she had to read the mummy's curse...she was great mad it really dramatic...however on little girl ruined it...At the end of the reading Laura asked them a rhetorical question 'true or fake?'...the little girl yells out "FAKE!"

After that I was up next...describing the mummification process...while Matt wrapped up a little kid in paper towel...i'll keep this brief...the kids had a few disgusted looks and a cringes hahaha

Vetea explained the next activity...which was colouring-in King Tut's masks and cutting them out...The templates which Mrs McManus worked so hard to create (: hahaha

I enjoyed helping out and running through this with the younger kids...makes me consider bein a teacher (:

anyways this post isn't up to my usual standards but what the hell...It wasn't really all that exciting...

that's my...life as it happens.

St Clare's College...

So i'd just like to make a short recount of my expeditions today on our trip to Canberra for a 'leadership' based event held at St Clare's college in Canberra...

Early morning as my alarm sounded...won't bore you with the usual morning routines...Redbull in hand I left the house with Jess...

I'll just fast forward the bus trip...usual singing etc...

Well we got there...to St Clare's and their enormous campus...Was greeted by them very nice St Clare's girls...easy on the eyes if you know what i mean ;)

I'll skip all the boring talking bits and pieces...but one thing i'll have to comment on was a very odd teacher who when asked to say something about the bible passage that stood out to them said...

wait for it..."when"...wtf?

So pretty much while all the teachers nodded in agreeance (probably to avoid looking ignorant)...whilst all the senior students present shook their heads in confusion...and those students from the same school as that teacher hung their heads in shame...later they apologised for her...was very funny :)

During a break...I was feeling pretty anti social only hanging around the guys from Carroll...but after Mr MacAteer talked to us for a bit...i decided to get out of my comfort zone and try my luck with some of these girls...which there was an abundance of :)

So i scanned the large room...looking for the (i know this sounds shallow) hottest group of girls i could see...and startin walking towards them...taking my mates by surprise...

I assume they thought i was going to stop and comeback to them...but i was determined :| Sweaty palms and the a slight nervous feeling gripped me...

I made my self known with a simple "Hey, How's it goin?"..."My names Anthony"...which was greeted by a few more questions of where i was from...and they introduced themselves...although i couldn't remember their names for the life of me...was just nice to prove my friends wrong and get out there...

I subtlety scanned the room for my friends and they shot glances and smiles at me as the looked in astonishment at what i was doing...i felt pretty proud of myself and i think that feeling turned itself into confidence as i continued to 'make small talk' with the girls...which i later found out were all in Yr 12...

I felt a little intimidated :) After i realised that i ran out of things to talk about...i decided to leave..."It was very nice talking to you all, i'm gonna go head over there...cya later"...

I went back to my friends to hear what they had to say...i was enjoying my day :)

There was another group activity before the day concluded... I like my group...everyone seemed to have input which i really liked...and one particular, Sophie, seemed to be a natural leader :)

each group presented their work...and i got her email :) (for the record i wasn't the only guy that though she was hot, Jono also did...so i'm not just makin this shit up)

And that was the end of that :)

Peer Support

original title, i know :)

Hundreds of bags and shuffling feet covered the front entrance of Carrol College as Yr 7 and 11 students rushed about, frantically loading their camping gear onto the buses...

The Yr 11 peer support leaders - 29 of us in total - were scattered amongst the mass yr 7's...it was gonna be a long camp...

After a long Bus trip to Tabourie Lake Caravan Park, and a sea Yr 7 & 11's setting up tents...Mr MacAteer, the camp coordinator, split us into our groups...there was a ration of 3:8 - 3 Yr 11 peer support leaders and 8 yr 7's.

I don't want explain in detail every activity but more outline our experiences...The usually activities of team bonding, getting to know one another and having fun at the beach and jumping pillow, were the activities being taken part :)

But what i enjoyed and what i shall remember was the time spent on patrol with the staff...Mr Fogarty, Brady, MacAteer and Mrs Harris...

The discoes had ended and the Yr 7's had been ushered to bed...the Yr 11's being asked to stay back so Mr MacAteer could 'talk' to us...i don't wanna delve too deep into that...but he expressed his unsatisfaction with the camp and how they should've done it...Some common faults amognst the Yr 11's and even some faults by the teachers...

When we were given permission to leave...Yr 7's were still getting ready for bed and so did i...having a quick shower before our patrol...

Being Peer support leaders we were required to spend and hour or so on 'patrol'...and so we did...the first half an hour we walked about telling the Yr 7 boys to 'go to sleep', 'keeps the noise down', 'lights out' and according to the teachers 'go to bed or i'l strangle you'...

But what i'll really remember was the way the teachers treated us...back when we were in yr 7 we were treated as children, babied and look after...as we stood there amongst them...they were relaxed, friendly and quite funny...

In on case where we - myself, Rhys, Jono, Josh, Mr Bath and i think Mr Fogarty - were standing in the middle of the boy's lines were talking and laughing quite loudly over some sort of incident or story that 'Bathy' was telling us...

As soon as he heard the Yr 7 boys talking behind us in their tent...he yelled at them telling them to go to sleep...immediatley he looked at us and started laughing aswell...i was a little shocked by his actions...as i had never seen this side of him, nor most of the teachers there...

Being out there in this situation allowed not only the Yr 7's to connect with each other, ourselves and the teachers but it also gave us a chance to get to know the teachers a little more too...

I can't wait for out Yr 11 retreat :)

Late Night Hugs

Saying goodbye to friends is one of the worst things to do...

Especially when you do it prematurely :( I felt pretty bad about what I had said :| I had been a Jerk and my comments were uncalled for :( So i decided to get out of my comfort zone and prove myself to her...To show that I was truly sorry and that I do care for her :)

But why I would want to walk to her house at night :\

It was a cold night :| Dark grey skies, threatening to unleash it's contents above me as I made my way to her house...

Could I be more stupid? Not knowing exactly where i was going...Barely being able to see at some streets...thinking i would be attacked by wild animals or beaten down by a couple of Drunken Aboriginals...But i was determined to get there.

Walking through the backstreet's I walked the length of Albert St... completely destroying my newly washed Rabens...My feet where drenched and muddy and i hadn't even got 1/4 of the way...

After passing through the muddy track that was Albert St...i was finally on the road...running i made my way as fast as i could to her house...It was too dark to read some signs so i relied on my memory and instinct to get there :|

It was a long and lonely time...my head was full of thoughts swirling through my mind, what would i say to her? what should i do when i get there? how do i explain to her grandparents why i was there?

Realising where i was after i had passed familiar streets...I approached her house...A feeling of accomplishment washed over me :)

I approached the front door and immediately her dogs started barking at me but subsequently stopped after they realised who I was...I entered the gate... through the front door where I was greeted by Helen...after briefly explaining why I was there she told me where she was...

I sent her a txt saying 'look behind you'... a little creepy I know, not sure if she actually got it before I approached the room...I stood at the her bedroom door...waiting for her to notice me...

I was perspiring profusely...maybe I should've slowed my pace before i got to her house soI wouldn't have been as sweaty...but I couldn't wait...

I gave her a late night hug...She knew I was coming...I was sorry for what I had said and the only way to make up was this...I couldn't just leave it till the next day because it was convenient for me...

We briefly talked before my Dad called me asking where i had gone...i told him the truth...well some of it at least...Giving her another prolonged hug...i said goodbye and left...

As I left her house I felt lighter and more relaxed...it was even darker on my way back...unfortunately for me the return journey was all up hill :( but i'd do it again...without a second thought

Sooo Much Rain : |

Almost 200 ml of water has fallen in the past 60 or so hours...Roads, Shops and even Schools have been closed : | The Swimming Cranival has been called of...again :|

It's all very exiting...After bucketing down last night, Areas of Moruya were submerged underwater...

*The Moruya Golf Course resembling more of a lake than a grassy fairway.
*The Moruya High School after been subject to knee deep water has been closed.
*Gundary Oval resembling it's former swamp like appearance.
*Carroll College has even been closed.
*Surrounding roads have also been closed.

I got a lift home with Jess sometime round 11:30ish...was a bit of a nerve-racking drive home...having to avoid sticks that had been washed onto the roads and areas where the road had been submerged by fast-flowing murky water...but we got to Moruya safely : )

No school tomorrow : ) so at least i'll have time to catch up on some work...

Well it is Valentines Day...And i did promise to Mention 'Bec Freeman' in one of my posts...so there it is Bec :)

Sitting in my room contemplating doing my homework...just contemplating though...

School :(

Wednesdays are the longest day of the week :( a full day of school plus an extra two hours in the afternoon for 2 units of Studies of Religion...

As per usual i caught the bus to school and after a little persuasiveness my 'beautiful wife' Jess came up to join me...until Anita decided to come between us...:[

Anyways on the bus being about 1000 degrees outside there were of course windows opened...and this can be a bit of a nuisance for girls who have their hair a certain way as some of you may know...

Jess: "see Anthony, Look at my fringe, i had it just the way i wanted and now, because i came up the back for YOU, look what's happened" *points to hair*

Anthony (Me):*stares at Jess for a moment* "...Jess you look beautiful"

Jess: *serious face turns into a smile*

Anthony (Me): *smiles back*

Crisis averted...but i did mean what i said, And so ended the morning bus trip :)

Now to start school :( Advanced English was the first period and Mrs Cohen being away for the next two days had set us some work...Which Mrs Cahill, our substitute, followed down to the letter.so it was a very boring and uneventful lesson...what a surprise :|

2nd Period was Ancient History which i looked forward too, mainly cos i we have a really good teacher, Mrs McManus, and i enjoyed learning about it :) After being required to read a few pages from our text books we began a class task which required each student to take on the role of their specialty chosen by our teacher...After telling the other class members what each other students was and their role...we were told our task...a 'Hypothetical' excavation to be done as a group...the rest of the information was to be disclosed at a later date...an uneventful but enjoyable lesson :)

Onto Recess, Sitting at our usual table, Matthew Favetta - Fav, Rhys Voysey - Speed, Myself and our honourary yr 11 friend who's actually in yr 10 but for some reason sits with us...Nic Broad-McGregor - Nic. So a pretty relaxing recess, if not long...Matt finding a empty pill packet for 'period pain' on the table and calling Kayleigh's name out while throwing it to them telling her not to leave her "period pain rubbish everywhere"...turns out Matt was right, it was hers :)

The bell rang for the end of Recess and i made my way to the timber rooms...stopping in the senior courtyard to say hello to my wife Jess ;) giving her my ice-block as she asked...then i left her with it (i'd had a couple already and wasn't up to finishing it) which i later saw she took a bite and then threw the rest out, meh i didn't rlly care...and so on to the timber rooms for the double period of Industrial technology, with Mr Prior who despite his mental raping due to his extremely high expectations turned out to be a pretty cool teacher...We spent the double in the computer lab using this excellent piece of Software 'Google Sketch Up'...Wasn't too bad of a double lesson...

After the double it was lunch but we had to go to this Yr 7 Peer Support Camp meeting...Being in Yr 11 i was chosen as one of the Yr 11's to go on camp with the Yr 7's...Mr MacAteer gave us quick chat about expectations and what not...and scheduled another meeting. That took up most of Lunch but we walked to the senior courtyard to spend the last few minutes of lunch...where i again said hello to my wife :)

The bell rang for the end of lunch and we made our way to B2 for our Studies Of Religion class...ended up moving to a computer lab where we did some more work...lame :( don't rlly wanna talk much about it, cos there's not much to say...moving on to the next period and last of the day...general Maths :|

Covering two or so topics Mrs Harris Sped through through the work...and before we knew it, the period had ended...however we did end up getting a fair bit of h/w...and that was the end of the day for most everyone in the school except for my Studies of Religion Class...Which was scheduled for Wednesday afternoons from 3:20pm til 5:00pm...

after a very very short break after 6th period...we began working on the work from period 5 when we had Religion...longest hour of my life :(

Pretty much continued until 20 past 4 when Mrs Whiting let us have a quick breather...after returnign we sat around the 'Promethean electronic learning board' and finished the last half an hour of the lesson with a lecture on Buddhism...

And so ended My day *sigh* very relieved it was over thank God it's only once a week...as i was outside i helped the girls move a picnic table to our area...along with some help from Fav we moved it over there with limited fuss...to say the least...

and that's my...life as it happens.

First Day Of School

New Pants, New Shirt, New Belt, New Folder, New Shoes, New Homeroom, New Classes, New People...you get the idea. First day of being a Senior, was a little daunting at first.

Seeing all my friends back at school with our new senior uniforms on; my year group was lookin pretty good ;)

All the lads wearing the khaki pants as opposed to our junior grey ones, and the girls wearing green skirts...we all dressed the part hahaha.

Was a pretty early start to the day waking up at 7:30am as opposed to my 12 noon in the holidays :) Was pretty keen to wear the senior pants though...kinda weird i know.

Started the day pretty well, got lift to school with Jess - whom i might say is an excellent driver x. Had to sit on the Basket ball court and do some admin with Bathy and the Hogster, Lame.

But i officially have Free/Study periods, YEW!

For some absurd reason the schools decided to change their homeroom system to vertical lines which means i have a couple of kids from every single year in the one class, Gayness, At least i have Jono and Micki :)

First Period i had which turned out to be the Second period subject cos we missed first due to admin and stuff was Ancient History...Was fair keen to get into some work, sick of bein a waiter at Dad's restaurant. That feeling wore away though hahaha.

Had Recess or as we call it 'AM BREAK', me and Matty Fav had to move a table so we could sit down, Gayness, our group had declined so we were down on numbers :(

Double Music followed first part was ok getting straight into, practicing for the Welcoming Mass but the second part was extremely dry going over our course content, ZZZZZZzzzzzzzz.

Then Lunch a.k.a. PM BREAK was short and boring. Moving straight into maths.

General Maths seems easy enough for the moment. After a slow start to the lesson having to get text books and what not. Algebra...AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!

Was glad when the bell rang for 6th and last period, Indutstrial Technology with Mr Prior, was fair keen at first then he decided to open his mouth...all i heard was you have to get a BAND 5 OR 6 to pass in my eyes a BAND 4 is a FAIL to me...

Saved by the bell, Mr Campbell cutting our lesson short so we could go back to hoomeroom...to help the Yr 7's settle and catch buses easier.

Got a lift home with Jess again...Gotta love her...not a bad First day at school...
that's my...life as it happens.

Australia Day

Marking the birth of our Great Nation the 26th of January. Pretty swell day about 1000 degrees out side though.

So many ways to spend Australia Day...Beach, BBQ, Party...Beach BBQ Party...okay so not so many ways...Mine was gonna be spent at the Vietnam Veterans Australia Day celebration.

Was dreading spending the day with my grandparents at their friends celebration but turned out better then i expected.

Early start to the morning made our way to the restaurant then to their house. Slow start to the event spent most of the first hour waiting to go home. But as things got going i was starting to enjoy myself...

  • Did my waiter thing and served some of my Om Noi's Vietnamese coleslaw to all the guest - was a big hit amongst the veterans.
  • Sat on the verandah in the shade and watched Tony cook the Lamb on the Barbie.
  • Offered my service to carve the lamb...Leo was a little hesitant at first but Tony gave some encouragment.
  • Using my awesome ninja/asian skills i carved up that lamb.
  • During which my good friend Jess came home - it was her house.
  • Ate Lunch and what not then i reluctantly went home.
Fast forward an hour and a half Jess and i played 9 holes of golf on the Moruya Golf Course with two of my mates. It was the last 9 holes we would play these holidays and the last 9 holes i would be able to play with Lewis before he left for his schooling in Sydney.

  • Lewis and Rhys in one cart, Jess and I in the other.
  • Played the front nine
  • Horrible start to say the least.
  • Some improvement over the nine.
  • Had a smokin caddy - Jess.
  • Good way to spend your last moments with a friend - Lewis.
  • Great way to end Australia Day.
And that's my...life as it happens...
